The Jo Moraiz surf school was the first to start teaching in France on the legendary Côte des Basques beach in Biarritz, the cradle of French surfing.
Jo Moraiz surf school is located on the seafront, right in front of the waves, your favourite playground.
The configuration of the beach provides the best conditions for learning to surf on the Basque coast.
WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE DISCOVERY SESSION?
The introductory surf lesson lasts 1? hours in the water, but you need to arrive 30 minutes before the session to prepare. This will enable you to learn the basics of safety. But it will also allow you to catch your first waves.
In other words, surf lessons are just as suitable for children as they are for adults. For beginners and experienced surfers alike.
The instructors will supervise you in the water throughout the duration of the course. In addition, they will provide you with advice and assistance to catch as many waves as possible!
Surf lessons take place at low tide for greater safety. At the same time, beginner surfers can discover the first sensations of gliding along the shore, with their feet firmly on the ground, so that they feel completely at ease.
Group lessons are for a maximum of 8 people per instructor. One-to-one lessons last one hour and are designed to help you progress, with more targeted teaching depending on your level.
HOW DOES THE COURSE WORK?

The instructors will explain to you how to read the water and the currents to better understand the waves!
Bodysurfing
Bodysurfing is the foundation of the foundation. It involves gliding with your body through the foam. For beginners, this exercise is essential for acquiring information such as water temperature, wave power or current strength.
Take-Off
Once you've finished bodyboarding, you return to the sand to learn how to position and ride your board. This is when you learn how to position yourself: if you're goofy, you position yourself on the left side of the board; if you're regular, you position yourself on the right.
The instructor will also teach you how to position your feet correctly, bend your knees and position your arms and torso....
You'll soon be up and sliding down the moss!
WHAT IS THE PRICE? UNDER WHAT CONDITIONS?
We offer a single price for an introductory surf lesson. However, the price is degressive if you decide to take a course.
However, surf lessons are supervised by qualified teachers who hold a Brevet d'État or Brevet professionnel jeunesse éducation populaire et sport. Their experience will save you precious time.
The surf school also has a wide range of surfboards available for lessons, from foam longboards to resin shortboards for the more experienced. The wetsuits are supplied by the surf school and are adapted for each season and for all sizes.
